    1.30 Aintree - Noble Yeats 7/1 (365,Hills,BFred) - Dashel Drasher 11/1 (365,Hills)
A couple in the Many Clouds Chase catch my eye , and neither are in the first three in the betting , considering its only a 6 runner race im not sure whether thats a good thing or a bad thing lol , but i honestly think those at the front of the betting are beatable. First up is NOBLE YEATS , who won the Grand National here back in April , and i think its interesting that trainer Emmet Mullins brings just this one over today , cant see him coming over just to admire the scenery and he has a 25% strike rate over the past fortnight. Horse seems pretty versatile trip wise , won over 2m7f last time out , and has won over 3m before (and the 4m2f of the GN) so cant see 3m1f posing too much of a problem if im being honest. Horse is still only 7 years old , so despite being up against some classy sorts here today i think theres the potential for more from the selection. DASHEL DRASHER is the other one i like , tough as old boots and can usually be relied upon to run his race , if he handles the step up in trip i think he'll be a danger to all. Always thought the trainer was a bit of a shrewdie and he has a 22% strike rate in the past couple of weeks , and jockey Rex Dingle goes for just this one ride , 20% strike rate over past fortnight , and 33% strike rate at the course this term. Has ridden the horse before and has two wins and a place from five wins. Can see him going close , if , as i said , he handles the step up in distance.

    2.05 Aintree - Percussion 20/1 (Lads,Coral)
Nice simple 16 runner handicap chase at Aintree , what could go wrong ?! :unsure .. I like the look of PERCUSSION in this one at a decent price , ran a very decent looking race when third in the Grand Sefton here last time , after 167 days off. The re opposing Gesskille was second (8 lengths ahead) and is currently favourite , but having that run under his belt and coming in here 3lb lower im hopeful of him turning that form around today. Has cheekpieces and tongue strap and when theyve been applied he hasnt been out of the placings , 2 wins and 2 places from 4 runs. Trainer sends just this one to the meeting and has a 16% strike rate over the past three weeks. Gavin Sheehan in the plate for the first time , hes a jock i rate , and hes been amongst the winners lately with a 24% strike rate over the past 21 days. I think the step up in trip today wont inconvenience his chances and at the 20/1 on offer i felt he was worth a punt.

    1.10 Sandown - Copperhead 14/1 (Hills,BetFred)
On the face of it COPPERHEAD isnt probably the stand out in this handicap hurdle , and admittedly others come into the race with more pressing claims but i cant help but feel theres a big race in him despite the disheartening figures .. looked a decent sort back in 2019 and 2020 but has shown little or nothing since then , failed to complete in last two races (both chases) and reverts back to the smaller obstacles off what could be a very decent looking mark. One from one here at Sandown , and Joe Tizzard sends just this one to the meeting , Harry Cobden rides for the first time , and has been riding well of late with a 37.5% strike rate over the past month (has a 50% strike rate at Sandown this season). Caught my eye that Paul Nicholls' has a runner in the race but he doesnt ride it , could be something or more likely nothing , but stood out for me. I dunno , im not hundred percent but like i say i just think Copperhead is due a big run and im willing to pay to see if todays the day.

I've backed it for the grand national mate at 25/1. Probably not worth backing at 12s now without NRNB as there's plenty of time for others to shine between now and then.

Good luck fella , cant see it being far away come the day and 25s is a nice price as well. I never bet ante post nowadays , used to , but got caught with non runners before , and its money down the drain aint it if you aint got NRNB , but like yer say when you have NRNB the price goes/has gone , catch 22 i think

    4.50 Wolverhampton - You're Cool 12/1 (365)
Like the chances of YOU'RE COOL in this one , he let us down last month when i posted him up but im hoping that he can redeem himself here this afternoon , theres a handful who come into the race who look as though they're prepared to strike but given the selections solid course form you couldnt honestly rule out a good run .. 8 wins and 5 places from 32 runs over CD. Looks to have a decent enough draw today and is slowly coming down in the weights , runs off 61 today but has won off as high as 79 so if anywhere near his best he'd have to hold a serious chance I think. Trainer Derek Shaw has a 25% strike rate over the past fortnight and jockey Rose Dawes comes here for just the one ride , takes a useful 7lb off , and has two wins and two places from her 6 rides aboard the horse. Been amongst the winners lately , past three weeks she's notched up a 17% strike rate. All things considered i think 12/1 is a decent price and worth a punt that he can go close here today.

    7.20 Wolverhampton - Business 14/1 (365)
Joint top weight BUSINESS look to me as though he could do the business here this evening , or hopefully so anyway ! Having only his second start for trainer , Sean Curran , after leaving Gordon Elliots' yard. was 9th on debut for new stable lto at Kempton but i think better can be expected here , has his usual hood refitted and Ross Coakley takes over on jockey duties. Ran well both times he's run here , placing on both occasions. Trainer sends just this one to the meeting and he has an 18.8% strike rate when sending runners here this season. Jockey also goes for just this one , has an 18% strike rate over past fortnight , and he too has done well at Wolverhampton this term with a 22.6% strike rate. Though theres others in the race who look as though they could go well it still looks an open race and with his usual hood back on i just feel he'll run a better race and make his presence felt.

    12.38 Newcastle - Camusdarach 9/2 (Hills,BFred) - Lady Wormsley 3/1 (BFred)
I like the look of a couple in this nursery , firstly CASUMDARACH who comes in to this on the back of a fine neck second at Lingfield last time out , that was a step up on his penultimate run when a decent enough third over todays CD , obviously going in the right direction and i think theres more to come with a good chance that todays the day he gets his head in front. Interesting that Mark Johnston sends just this one out today to make his handicap debut , been amongst the winners lately with a 15% strike rate over the past fortnight , and Jason Hart in the saddle for the first time , showing a 14% strike rate over the past 3 weeks and when riding at Newcastle this season he's managed a 15% strike rate along with a more than healthy profit of +£63.50 to a £ stake. Casumdarach looks to have a decent draw and is running from a workable mark imo and i can see him going close here. The other one i like is LADY WORMSLEY , who has come second on her last 2 starts , last time out being beaten by 3/4 length over CD , has a 2lb rise in the weights to contend with but the trainers shrewd enough so should cope with that. Her form seems to have improved since shes gone handicapping , last 2 runs , and i think thats set to continue here. Jamie Fanshawes runners always merit respect imho and the fact he sends just this one out caught my eye , and i think its worth noting that when he's sent his runners here this season hes amassed a 30.8% strike rate along with a profit of +£5.53 , Daniel Muscutt in the hot seat and he too comes for just this one , and hes been riding well with a 23% strike rate in the past fortnight , has a place from his two rides aboard the horse thus far , and like the trainer hes done well at Leafy this term with a 25.6% strike rate and a profit of +£11.45 to his name. If she continues in the same form shes shown in her previous two starts she'll definatley be battling it out at the business end.

    Tuesday 13th December

    2.13 Southwell - Hiya Maite 7/2 (Hills,365)
HIYA MAITE catches my eye in this class 5 handicap , .won over the distance on penultimate run at Newcastle , hanging on doggedly to beat Sugar Baby by a short head , and last time was a decent third over todays CD .. so seems to be in decent enough form. Hasnt won here at Shuvvel , but has placed on both runs here which makes me think that track and trip shouldnt pose a problem. Lewis Edmunds in the pilot seat and he has an 18.8% strike rate in the past month and has a 16.4% SR when riding here this season , has ridden the horse 6 times resulting in a win and two places. Trainer Roy Bowring sends just this one out to the meeting today and he has a 50% strike rate over the past two weeks , and a 32.1% strike rate when sending his runners to the course this season along with a +£44.63 profit to boot , so anything he sends here warrants a closer look i think and the fact he sends just this one could be a statement of intent. Couple of others could be flies in the ointment but i think Hiya Maite will run his race and go very close here.
