In reply to my emails about the Bonuses and computer generated scores I received following reply

"It was a 1 in a million with the last game being abandoned as the system is trained to remove chips that have been played (normally). As this was the last game we have restored those plays!!!

We didn’t notice any issue on the southampton game and didn’t get any emails. Are you sure there is an issue?

We def look into missed match scores. Maybe 0 might work better?"

I confirmed that the Soton Bonus did not register. I also agreed that 0 pts for missing forecast would be my option but I also said that I would ask on this forum for other player's views.

Yes, 0 would be the best option I think for not submitting any picks. I don't see any reason why people should be punished as such with a minus score, but nor do I think it's fair that they can end up getting lucky with the computer-generated picks and getting a high score.

I still think -10 would be the best option for missing picks, how many times this season have we been in the minuses when selecting picks.
Anybody not placing picks should get no advantage whatsoever imo.

0 points for me. For the exact same reasons what Rc says.

Players rarely miss a week in our league, -10 is harsh Slick! :)

I don't think so, there's no way anybody not placing picks should get 1 point more than anybody who has placed them.

Ideally and if it's possible, they should give the none pickers -10 points from the lowest picked score in that league.
I'd say that's about as fair as it could be.

If it was just about our mini-league, I could maybe go along with that, Slick, but they have an overall table for every single player in the game, it's not just our league. And what about players who are in a load of different leagues? You can't give them a different score in each league based on the lowest scorer in that league, so it'd have to be based on the lowest scorer in the entire game, and -10pts from the lowest scorer in the entire game could be a very harsh punishment. There are some people in this game even worse than ODM, FFS :lookaround

For the most part if people don't enter any picks, it's because they've forgotten, not as any kind of tactic. It could just as easily happen in a week when everyone's scoring 100+, and they're going to end up with 0. But even if people did choose not to submit any predictions as some kind of tactic, I still wouldn't have a problem with that. What's the difference between that and someone choosing not to use their banker chip for a week as it's a tough round of fixtures and they want to protect their bonus? I can't see any difference, and yet a few times this season people have talked of not using their bonus as it's too difficult a week (not sure if anyone actually did avoid using their banker at any time, but I know the subject came up a few times).

I've been giving this subject a bit of thought overnight, drawing from my own experience.
Predictor have always given a computer score for those who don't enter forecasts and in some ways it would be a shame to do away with that.
I say that because I also played in two other predictor type games and one week forgot to enter (I think I had a very early away game at Dover) and by Sunday I had dropped down table like a stone. Because of that I stopped playing those games.
I think a compromise in fairness and keeping interest going for those who very occasionally and genuinely forget to enter is to use the most popular predicted score-line as the computer forecast.
That way the computer scores would be no greater than average but usually slightly less than average because of having no Bonus/Insurance chips.

lol, not if it's anything like last season when most of us were getting regular -30's on the banker bonus.

I can see what your saying about the different leagues and varying scores respectively RC, ehhm , if that's the case then I'd just take the average of all the leagues and then -25 points.

Np's Newman, over the full season you probably deserved to win it. Marched away early doors, gained a substantial lead, blew it big time but managed to regain your composure then mounted a winning challenge over the last few weeks with perfect timing.

    Well done.
