It's true what they say, it's not a football club but a cult.

Did we not already have a Liverpool thread in association with you Punt lol, thought we did.

Looks like i was steamed when i got home from an afternoon in the pub with my lad last Sunday..
We won away at Chelsea and his West Ham beat Man Utd, so a good day for us both.

I think we had a Liverpool thread at TDP but not here? Not sure.

As for a cult, these BOSS sessions are supposed to be brilliant. They started a few yrs back when fans wanted to go on the piss and have a sing song after the game.
Jamie Webster and a few of his pals turn up with their guitars and away they go...

    Madrid looked amazing...

As in cult I mean Liverpool fans seem to want to take it one step further than being a usual fan, suppose more than one step really because you seem to have more fans than anybody else in England where LFC becomes their life where nothing else matters.
Celtic seem to be a big influence in this as you's seem to piggyback anything they do, songs included.
I think it also creates that anti-English sentiment with phrases like 'We're scouse not English' which has created 'Anybody but Liverpool' where it used to be 'Anybody but United' but that was due to their arrogance, when logically it should be 'Anybody but City' due to the way we've evolved with oil money, done us a big favour really and helped City increase it's UK fanbase.

I'm not knocking Liverpool for this as that's what creates those passionate European nights and it's great to watch, just an observation:wink
Plus this 'us against the world' mentality has really moulded Liverpool into the team it is today just like Fergie did when it was 'Anybody but United'.

City's game tomorrow against Everton will be interesting Punt.
Usually it's one of our hardest games of the season but since you have been doing well these last couple of years they have bent over for us, now they desperately need points this could be a real toughie.

We're lucky in a way that we have two teams in United and Everton that would hate to see Liverpool win the Prem and do us a big favour which won us the league Last season, don't see them being so charitable this season as both badly need the points.

My first ever game at Anfield was in 1978, i was 12, we beat Leeds 1-0, Dalglish scored the winner and Phil Neal missed a penalty.
A long time ago, so apart from the goal and the missed penalty, there are only a few other things i remember about that day.
One of the few other things i do remember is a chant from the Kop. Half of them were shouting "Celtic" and the other half "Rangers" it went on for about 5 minutes, back and forth, "Celtic..Rangers..Celtic..Rangers".
I never understood that, singing about two Scottish clubs. I guess it was as much about religion and belief then, as it is today.

But you're right, there is a far bigger link towards Celtic these days, and i dont like it. Fucking Celtic with their "Stick your poppy up your arse" and "Lee Rigby wont be drumming anymore" chants.
I have no hatred in football but the team i like least in world football is Celtic. I'll be glad when Gerrard shut's them up.

There's even been moans about a Union Jack being seen in the Kop. Every other flag is ok though. And the bollocks of we're scouse not English also doesn't look good to the wools and beyond .I understand that it came about from the Thatcher era where Liverpool was left to rot and to Hillsbrough being swept under the carpet but that's the way the locals see it.

But apart from that, come kick off, we're all together, loud and proud of LFC. It's all about the football.

Absolute bollocks, Slick. You're going to roll them over in a similar fashion you did Watford. They dont want the points, they want Silva gone. He's bookmakers favourite for next manager to go.
Did you know the price on City winning 5-0 is shorter than the price on Everton winning 1-0? :lol
We've got a much tougher game than you, this week.

:lol well Chelsea and Spurs got away with it. No harm done :lol

Well I've done City a favor by backing Liverpool to win the league. I've been laying City for a while from as low as 1.47 as the prices just didn't make any sense and I carried on laying them at odds on when they were 8 points behind yesterday before their game. I was hoping that they would creep up to over evens during yesterday's game so that I could back some back but I was watching the prices for the league on Betfair during the game and City were about 10/11 to win the league before kick off, 10/11 when they went a goal up and 10/11 when they were pegged back to 1-1 :lol. Basically, what that tells us is that they were never, at any stage, expected not to win which, despite the fact that they did go on to win, not logical given that Everton certainly had plenty of chances.

Anyway, they have now settled at a price just above 5/6 and I could cash out to leave me a free bet to win over £200 if Liverpool win but I'm going to stick with the backing and laying as it gives me a potential interest in every game for both teams for the rest of the season and there will be plenty more ups and downs to come.

Good luck mate. It could be a good time to back City, with Liverpool facing Leicester this weekend.
We've not been fully at the races last couple of games, despite winning. I can see Leicester getting something.

Personally i'm all over the Man City multiple trophies market, including the quadruple.

No Chance Punt not with our defence at the moment due to injuries, we were quite lucky at Everton and they're a pretty average side.
Anything above that level and I guarantee we will concede goals and drop points.

If Liverpool just keep on doing what they are doing and grinding out points no matter how poorly you are playing then I think you'll do it, only way I see you not doing it is if you get Injury's to key players, something that never seems to happen.

You'll just keep outscoring teams until the defence is sorted Slick.

Nah, there are games where we struggle to score even with all that possession and games where we just don't respect the opponent and come unstuck like against Norwich.
Plus it doesn't matter who we play, when we lose the ball and teams come at our defence it usually ends up a bleeding goal.

Scouse athlete Katrina Johnson-Thompson has just this minute become a world champion, has to be a sign Punt.
    Year of the Liverbird.

Thats the only thing that might bugger you up imo, that world club championship you have to play in the middle of the season.

Great player but I don't think he's hit the ground running yet this season compared to last as is the case with a few Liverpool players.

It's a cnut really as you've not lost a game and and will only get better as they get back upto speed.

    Valencia 5th? Al Hilal 14th?

Apart from the date i never believe a thing that rag prints.

It's a nice thought though lol, 46th lol

They've lost the plot but it'd be no surprise if the beat us next week.

Can't see them beating you but a draw maybe:crossfingers

I think Klopp might just go for it a as he should have done last year when United were hammered with Injuries, No Mourinhio to worry about this time and you have a healthy lead.
If so you could easily win this game 3 or 4 nil and put down a real marker because drawing this fixture last season gave City a sniff of the title again.
