Any danger of Granada holding Malaga tomorrow RC? I know they're away but they did hold out for 80 something minutes last week against Betis.

Price is shit at 4/9 but I'm wondering if it's worth a smallish bet to make enough to a couple of beers?

Yes, second time in as many weeks that a late goal in a Celta game has brought in the overs for me. Still down slightly for the day though as Valladolid only managed the one goal against Girona.

For Malaga v Granada, I don't really think Granada are capable of getting anything there, but I wouldn't want to be backing Malaga at that kind of price. I don't think Granada holding on for 80 minutes last time out against Betis is much of an achievement really - Betis are the better side, but Granada had no reason to feel inferior to them, having come up with them from Segunda last season, and having beaten them 3-0 at home last season, there was no reason they shouldn't have been capable of getting at least a draw from that one.

More of a cause for concern IMO if you're considering backing Malaga would be the fact that Granada drew 10 out of 21 away games in the league last season (and won just 3, terrible record for a team finishing 5th). They tend to play primarily for the draw away from home (or they did last year at least), anything more than that is a bonus.

I didn't see Malaga's first game myself, but remember you saying they were looking terrible up front. I think Baptista will be a key player for them, but he's still out injured at the moment.

Not really sure where I'm leading with all of this to be honest, just thinking out loud. Under 2.5 (priced at odds against - wouldn't be surprised if Granada fail to score, and I don't think Malaga will score 3)? Malaga win to nil? HT/FT X/1?

Could maybe be tempted on the unders myself, think that's the only bet I could maybe consider for this one though.

Probably because there's value in it mate. We are psychologically programmed to be more likely to cheer for events happening than to sit there wanting them not to happen. It's the same reason that the overs in the red card market of spread betting is usually poor value.

It's not so bad when there are two early goals, the pisser is when there are three in the last two minutes after you've sat through most of the game thinking you're onto a winner

I think what I hate most is the torture of having to sit through the full 90 minutes worrying that you could still be fucked over like you say, even if it's still 0-0 with 5 to go. The only way the bet can possibly be decided before then is if it's a loser. At least when you back the overs, you've got the chance of the bet potentially coming in within the first 5 minutes and you can then sit back and relax.

You backed anything in this match?

Might as well chuck this one in here rather than starting a new thread, as it's the only Spanish game being played tonight.

    Lugo v Atletico Madrid B over 2.5 goals @ 2.25 (Bet365) 2pts

Two teams with an attacking outlook meet here. Lugo have scored and conceded in all 3 games so far (9-3), while Atletico Madrid B had a 0-0 in the first week (although according to their website's report, there were plenty of chances in the first half, while the 2nd half was played in a thunderstorm so conditions weren't really ideal), but followed that up with a 4-1 win and a 2-1 defeat.

Only player missing for Lugo is their sub keeper, Atletico are missing a few players though, including their top scorer (who got a hat trick in the 4-1 win).

The comments from Atletico B's manager point towards an open game and hopefully goals though: "That's my way of thinking, and for as long as I'm here, I'll always opt for this kind of football. I want to score one goal more than our opponents, I want entertainment. We need to go out and play at any ground without any kind of inferiority complex. The same as Mr Setién's Lugo side. We may see a beautiful game; I don't know whether it'll be an open, end-to-end game. We'll have to wait and see, but neither Quique Setién nor myself are going to change our way of thinking. Both of us have played in creative positions, and we like to have possession of the ball."

1-0 after about 12 minutes, stayed that way until the 80th minute and I'd given up, then Lugo got a 2nd in the 80th, and Atletico B scored a 92nd minute consolation.
