PERGOLA at 12's
ESPIRIT D'ESCALIER - Nicely bred sort, but this looks a tough introduction at 50's.
2.20 Scottsville - LIVE LIFE and WINTER'S FORGE - Not sure these should be 20's and 50's respectively.
3.10 Goodwood - SWIFT AND SURE - Another nicely bred debutante, this time at a more realistic 14's.
3.30 Scottsville - THE PRIVATE - Probably would have needed it last time and also did not get the clearest of passages. Fair Maiden win gives him a squeak at 33's.
5.30 Goodwood - NIKITA - Probably more one for handicap's, but small EW at 80's.
FAVOLA - Needs to regain old form quickly, but blinkers added and this may help at 40's.
Did it again today on 2nd start, though way more impressive as this was a Grade 1. The name was nagging away at me for a while and as soon as it passed the post I remembered why. Last show was around 12's, so frustrating to miss out and made worse by the fact that my pick was 4th.
No way! I put this in my tracker (ATR) and received no notification whatsoever.
Just checked and it's definitely in there. I can only assume it doesn't work for SA racing
Cannot believe that price too Would definitely gone in my Lucky 15 today.
Sunday 27th May
9.40 Sha - Tin - VICTORY MACHINE - Does not look the strongest Class 3 to me and a number of these look to need a drop in grade. VM did win over c & d in December, but the handicapper then took charge. Getting back to a fair mark now and just watched him parade and certainly looks fit enough. Win might be pushing it, but definite EW squeak at 50's.
Going well for a long way, but ended up a disappointing 5th at an official 62/1.
ARIKEL - Debut 2nd was a fair effort and followed that up with a nice win. Should have more to come as well at 12's. CHE BELLA may prove a big threat at 7's.
12.30 Turffontein - DAY HAS COME and GO BALLISTIC - DHC needed it last time and can improve at 20's. GB was slow away on debut, but was only 8 lengths away and winners have come out the race, so definitely a case of the bare form being a bit misleading. Certainly an interesting contender at 40's.
2.05 Turffontein - DAME KELLY - Generally consistent up until last time, but better than that suggests and really should not be 20's on previous form.
3.50 Turffontein - SUMMER SUN and GOLDUST WOMAN - Handicapper gives SS a chance at 10's and GW whilst inconsistent, is capable on a going day at 20's
ONE DOLLAR MASSAGE at 28's
OCEANS PRIDE at 66's
MISQUOTED at 100's
CHEERS DELBOY - Shade disappointing last time, but ground may have just gone against him. Upped again in trip today, but should be fine on the better ground and does represent a stable in good nick. Early 20's gone and now 12's.
4.45 Curragh - ST GALLEN - Not won what he should have and again a bit unlucky last time. Tougher race today, but has a nice low weight and could surprise at 14's.
5.45 Fontwell - BOETHIUS - Returns to action on the back of a couple of Point wins and handicapper also gives him a chance. Step up in trip looks fine, cheekpieces added and looks to hold a fair chance at 10's
5.55 Curragh - PAPERBACK WRITER - Decent enough pedigree, but only hinted at ability in a pair of 6th's to date. Ought to be capable of much better at 40's
Monday 28th May
3.25 Fairview - KEEP IT GREEN - Stable 2nd string and poor run straight out the maidens. Opening mark did not look harsh and gets the 9lb claim today, so happy giving him another chance at 22's.
HUSSAR BALLAD - Arguably better on the AW, but has won on turf and mark on this surface can be exploited at 14's.
7.00 Ballinrobe - BRONTIDE - Bit quiet since last win and needs the recent break to have revived him. Leading chance if it has, so don't mind risking the 50's.
8.30 Ballinrobe - MELIOR - 2nd run an absolute shocker, but plenty to like about debut effort and willing to forgive that one at 14's.
WALK IN MILAN - Sensible one is probably FULL BORE at 7/2, but happy ridingr this one at 25's.
Tuesday 29th May
1.10 Kenilworth - EXCLAMATION and VANILLA ICE - First thought was newcomer SUITE FRANCAISE, but short at 11/2, so just a win bet as cover. Exclamation cost a bit and represents a top stable, so happy risking him on first start at 28's. VI hinted at ability on debut and can improve at 50's.
3.50 Leicester - PURGATORY - Tough looking race, but could not resist this nicely bred newcomer at 66's.
4.20 Leicester - OPTIMUM TIME - Not shown a lot lately, but down to a nice looking mark now at 12's.
5.50 Brighton - FELSTEAD KNIGHT - Headgear added and 7f here should be within his range. FAV being well backed, but happy with FK at 12's.
6.30 Ballinrobe - THE MULCLARE ROVER - Both career wins have been on this ground and ran well for a long time on recent comeback run. Hopefully can improve for that at 20's.
8.15 Gowran Park - SBRAASE - Yet to win on turf, but immediately back up in trip and handicapper gives him a real chance today. Visor added and hopefully this works the oracle at 10's. FOCUS WELL has to be better than recently shown and small EW at 33's
GIOVANNI ACUTO and POPPY LOVE - Pair of EW shouts, both at 25's.
Four wins last term , seventh a few weeks ago , hoping it makes the frame at 22s.
Wednesday 30th May
Live International racing on ATTHERACES from 12pm and playing in South Africa and Hong Kong
12.15 Sha - Tin - TRENDIFUL - Fair overall from and proved he's effective on dirt when third over C&D in March. Possibly a shade big at the early fixed odds of 11.
12.25 Greyville - TEETOTAL - Have to give a mention to ELEGANT ROYAL at 7's, but Teetotal is at his best on the Poly and thinking he is the best of the exposed horses at the weights. EW chance at 33's.
12.45 Sha - Tin - PREMIUM CHAMPION - Does not look the strongest of class 4's to me and PC is at least back to his last winning mark. Have to be honest and say it is a pick at the price, but cannot understand the current fixed win odds of 61.
1.00 Greyville - SO VAIN and GEORGINA - Pair of exposed sorts and whilst vulnerable to younger sorts, not sure about any of them, so gone with these 2 at 14's and 18's respectively.
1.15 Sha - Tin - RED HORSE - Patchy overall record but ran quite well when fourth over C&D this month and handicapper gives him a shot at 25's.
1.35 Greyville - BOMBS AWAY - Taking this one to try and make all at 28's.
2.50 Greyville - SHEZA ROCKSTAR - Solid one may be GORGEOUS GUEST at 7's as will improve for recent comeback run. SR is more speculative at 28's, but do feel this one is better than recent form suggests.
DOUBLE DOWN at 50's
