First thoughts are City and Chelsea double, followed by Spurs at home in the North London derby as I was expecting Spurs to be around evens.

The rest of those fixtures barring the Man U game will need a wee bit of thinking about.

That looks a tempting enough price on Liverpool. They are a team that cost me money as they do the opposite of what I've backed them to do but nobody can tell me that Everton have looked like a decent team this season and I fancy Liverpool to see them off.

Despite Blackburn's performance against Arsenal i will keep backing against them until I run out of money. City win for me.

Villa v Wigan. Villa really aren't very good are they? Put me down for a draw.

Man United v Norwich - United win, but not at that price. How about HT X FT UNITED

I backed Sunderland to beat West Brom last night. I'm struggling to see why their price was contracting given that they were piss poor on Monday night but there we are.

    Wolves v Newcastle - Draw

Bolton Chelsea. Mmmm, I wouldn't be surprised to see Chelsea struggle to break Bolton down to be honest. Yes I'll go for the draw on this one.

Swansea Stoke - Anything could happen. I wouldn't have a fucking clue to be honest.

The two London Derbies on Sunday. Have to wait for the team news I think. Too tricky

Villa are too short by far, looked poor I thought on sunday, very lightweight.

Thought QPR were poor as well. I've always felt they'd get away with it before the signings but even though its early days sundays performance I thought was very powder puff, so Fulham worth a look.

I'll go against the above posters, as I believe Wolves will have too much fight for Newcastle, & I also feel Albion are worth a look at a poor Sunderland

I'm a possible on Liverpool too, that's a bit of a tempter with 6/4 available. We'll need to field our strongest team though, even with Everton being poor. We have not been very good at keeping clean sheets this season though and might need to score at least two there for the bet to come in

I'd call a City win at Blackburn but with the away fixture in Europe midweek straight to another away fixture here i wont back them, not with that in mind, with those odds and with what is going on internally at the moment.

Wigan have gone 3 games without picking up a point, 4 losses on the trot if you count their Carling cup exit but they know every point is vital, i think that's the most they can expect here. I dont trust Villa right now, the ground will be half empty and there is pressure on the manager to get results. Hills go 3/1 for the draw, i might take that yet.

Utd should win but are no bankers against Norwich. Chance taking 7/1 the draw and then lay it at around 4 if they get to near half time level maybe?

Fulham look like probable winners but are either a shade odds on or evens, if i see 11/10 i might chance them.

It looks like a fair few draws this weekend, especially Spurs v Arsenal. There's an international break the following weekend and teams will not want to spend the next two weeks on the back of a loss. I might look for a prem draws bet this weekend.

A bet I quite like in those kind of circumstances is to back a team to score over 1.5 goals. You can get Liverpool to score over 1.5 goals at 2.55 with Sporting Odds or 2.5 at Bet365. It would cover any Liverpool win apart from 0-1, but it would also provide you with cover against a high-scoring draw or even a high-scoring defeat.

That does make more sense Rc, only i dont have accounts with those two bookies. I cant find on oddschecker which other bookies do that bet either.

I'll go along with Sunderland ODM, i saw enough of them on Monday night to see they have the players to get their house in order, its just a matter of when. At home to West Brom is the ideal team and time to start.
There will be near rioting i should imagine if Sunderland get nothing from this match, odds are about right I'd say considering both these teams at the moment are shite.

I see the majority are also going with Liverpool, ehhm its a tricky one. I'd like to go along with it but i have a sneaky feeling Everton will get something from this game if they push Liverpool hard enough and as mentioned the way Liverpool are conceding goals is a worry allthough saying that Everton are lacking decent strikers but on the other hand are averaging around 2 goals a game at home, betting wise i don't like the look of this game no matter which way i look at it but goodluck to those who have had a dabble.

My ratings have six bets from the EPL this weekend.

    Everton @ 3.1 v Liverpool – Back over 2.38
I see most are saying Liverpool here and to be honest I doubt it'll happen but the prices is too good to refuse.

    Blackburn v Manchester City @ 1.64 – Lay Man City under 1.71
A little controversy at city during the week and we can assume that they will be without Tevez too, slightly on the short side and a good lay oppertunity.

    Sunderland v West Brom @ 3.4 – Back over 3.38
A Vert marginal one here right up at the limits for a bet, but a bet none the less

    Wolverhampton v Newcastle @ 3.1 – Back over 2.52
Newcastle are on hot form and unbeaten this season, wolves have had some poor results against some poor sides, so why the hell are the Toon so big?

    Sunday
    Fulham @ 2.0 v QPR – Back over 1.77
Fulham are a decent home side and evens is a back all day here

    Tottenham v Arsenal @ 3.5 – Back over 3.15
Things have to change for Arsenal and it looks as if the might be with three wins on the trot, a win here would see them jump spurs in the table and would have them back in the top half, Derbys are always good for a 'suprise' so heres hoping...

Saturday 1st October 2011 KO 12:45 at Goodison Park
A potential cracker to get us underway as Liverpool look to improve their push for 4th place at fierce rivals Everton. The defeat at Spurs was a reality check for Kenny Dalglish’s men but they bounced back with victory over Wolves last weekend.
Everton were plucky but ultimately pointless at the City of Manchester Stadium but back on home turf, they are likely to give Liverpool a torrid time.

    [IMG]Aston Villa vs. [IMG]Wigan
Saturday 1st October 2011 KO 15:00 at Villa Park
Still unbeaten this season, Alex McLeish’s Aston Villa side are becoming somewhat the draw specialists having drawn five of their six matches thus far. The new manager has improved the defence and made his team tough to beat but these are the sorts of games they should be winning at home.
After a few positive results at the start of the season, the wheels have really come off at Wigan and they are staring a fourth straight league defeat in the face here.

    [IMG]Blackburn vs. [IMG]Manchester City
Saturday 1st October 2011 KO 15:00 at Ewood Park
The pressure was lifted on manager Steve Kean following Blackburn’s win over Arsenal, but defeat at Newcastle this past weekend has seen them slip back into the bottom three and are once again in much need of a win. Unfortunately for Blackburn, they are facing arguably the most talented squad in the League in the shape of Manchester City.
City maintained their excellent start to the season with victory over Everton on Saturday, and now sit level on points with Manchester Utd at the top of the table. With home advantage, Blackburn may be able to take something from the game and a draw is probably the value bet.

    [IMG]Manchester United vs. [IMG]Norwich
Saturday 1st October 2011 KO 15:00 at Old Trafford
Unbeaten all season and still top of the table, Manchester Utd look like strong favourites to take another Premier League crown. Having said that, Sir Alex Ferguson’s men were arguably lucky to come away with a point against Stoke last week, so they are not completely infallible.
Norwich recorded their first home win of the season on Monday evening with a 2-1 win over Sunderland. They are a very spirited side and have performed with great credit thus far but getting anything from Old Trafford will be a very tough ask.

    [IMG]Sunderland vs. [IMG]West Bromwich Albion
Saturday 1st October 2011 KO 15:00 at The Stadium of Light
A big game for Steve Bruce and Roy Hodgson here as Sunderland and West Brom have both experienced poor starts to the 2011/12 season. Sunderland looked poor in the defeat at the hands of Norwich but the week prior had won by 4-0 against Stoke. Back on home soil, I expect to see an improved performance.
West Brom could only manage a goalless home draw against Fulham on Saturday and need a win from somewhere. Sunderland are definitely beatable, but I expect them to have too much for West Brom on this occasion.

    [IMG]Wolves vs. [IMG]Newcastle
Saturday 1st October 2011 KO 15:00 at Molineux
Following a promising start to the season, Mick McCarthy’s Wolverhampton Wanderers side have suffered three league defeats in a row and could really do with stopping the rot here.
Newcastle continue to impress and picked up three points in a 3-1 win over Blackburn in their most recent outing to remain unbeaten and sit in 4th place in the Premier League. This match has draw written all over it for me.

    [IMG]Bolton vs. [IMG]Chelsea
Sunday 2nd October 2011 KO 13:30 at The Reebok Stadium
Bolton Wanderers and manager Owen Coyle are going through a serious rough patch. Their fixture have been a little unkind, but following the 4-0 win at QPR on the opening day of the season, Bolton have not picked up a point in five games and sit rock bottom of the Premier League.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are flying high and sit just three points off the two Manchester teams at the top of the table. Villas-Boas side were arguably unlucky in the defeat at Old Trafford and seem to be improving all the time. Coyle will want a serious reaction from his players following a poor run of results and this could be where they start to pick up. I fancy a score draw.

    [IMG]Fulham vs. [IMG] QPR
Sunday 2nd October 2011 KO 15:00 at Craven Cottage
The second of our four Sunday fixtures sees QPR travel to Craven Cottage in what is a huge match for Martin Jol. Fulham are yet to win a league game under Jol this season and this is a game which fans will expect them to win. Four draws and two defeat’s leaves Jol’s side just outside the bottom three.
QPR have been on a decent little run since bringing in some fresh faces in the transfer window. They are unbeaten in their last three and look a much better side with Joey Barton in the centre of midfield. Fulham have always been decent on home ground and I fancy them to finally get their first victory of the season.

    [IMG]Swansea vs. [IMG]Stoke
Sunday 2nd October 2011 KO 15:00 at Liberty Stadium
A very interesting encounter at the Liberty Stadium with Premiership new boys Swansea taking on an ambitious Stoke City side. Swansea took a hammering at Chelsea last week but their home form has been good on the whole having only lost the one game to Man City in their opening fixture.
Stoke put a heavy defeat at the hands of Sunderland behind them with an excellent point at home against Manchester United. They sit in 7th place in the table and should be able to come away with a point here.

    [IMG]Tottenham Hotspur vs. [IMG]Arsenal
2nd October 2011 KO 16:00 at White Hart Lane
This is the first season for a long time where Tottenham come into a North London derby as the strong favourites. Spurs had a tough start to the season with their first game being abandoned and then having to play the two Manchester giants, but they have since won three on the bounce and look like serious contenders for the top four once again.
Arsenal on the other hand are a shadow of their former selves and it is hard to see their shaky defence handling Tottenham’s potent attacking force.

I wouldn't dargue with any of that VIP allthough i do think City will thump Blackburn on the back what happened of Tuesday night to show a bit of unity and team spirit as they owe the manager this one.

I'm also going to remove that big daft banner m8 as its only Mickeypaul that's allowed to do big daft banners around here.

    two standout games for me
    spurs v arsenal
spurs must be value at anything above evens on their home turf. arsenal's price is based on past glories and the team is lacking confidence.

    everton v liverpool
normally a tight affair the merseyside derby which makes me scratch my head at everton's price. also it's not justified from the home and away form of the two sides. liverpool are overrated on current form and you can still get 3.2 @betchronicle for everton. got to be worth a punt imo (also dnb 2.1 if you want the draw cover)

as an aside the toon being unbeaten at this stage is unbelievable:dance ...must be a correction in that soon says the pessimistic sitting on my shoulder

Aye Newcastle have had a good run of fixtures and caught Arsenal at the right time, so far this season it looks like lady luck has been on their side (fixture wise) but you know aswell as i do It won't last but the main thing is moral is riding high at the moment and they will go into tomorrows game against Wolves believing they will come away with something without having to sit behind the ball.

Betting wise though I still don't trust them just as i never trusted Man City b4 the cash investment, off the top of my head I would say draw, maybe X2 to play it safe as Wolves look all over the place at the moment but I wouldn't be risking any of my money on it.

Apart from the newcastle comment, I couldn't agree less. Liverpool may not win but a back of Everton looks like a crap bet to me and the same could be said of Spurs, Arsenal may not win but the home win is a no-no.
Liverpool and Arsenal have been nothing short of garbage compared to former glories but to back a team that went behind against Shamrock fucking rovers at home and a side that's beaten nothing but shit is pure folly in my mind. Granted you only need one of the two to win or a profit but I don't think either of them will.

Back a draw double if you're feeling brave.

Thats a bit harsh on Spurs as they did play a second string against Shamrock Rovers in readiness for this game and have looked pretty good tell the truth since they got whooped by City.
I'm always hesitant where derbys are concerned but do feel confident enough to back Spurs against what has to be the worst Arsenal side over the last decade.

I'm on them this weekend and good luck also to anybody else who is.

I have found that to dismiss a man as waning or even finished – his life’s work for the most part accomplished – is a dangerous thing to do. Take the example of my dear friend Inspector Craddock, who – on reaching what is nowadays referred to as pensionable age – was felt, both by his superiors and – unfortunately – his subordinates, to be out of touch. A relic of a bygone age. Finished, even.

Of course when he unravelled the singularly gruesome events at Gossington Hall simply by noticing the degree to which the bread knife had sunk into the butter on a warm summer’s day, they were forced to reconsider their respective positions. Modesty forbids me from mentioning my own small part in the proceedings - suffice to say I trust that I was of some peripheral assistance to the Inspector in the matter concerned.

And so I am put in mind of Inspector Craddock whenever my thoughts turn to Arsene Wenger and the singular problem of his much maligned Arsenal team. The good times are – it would appear – gone forever. Great talents have departed and been replaced with lesser imitations that flatter to deceive, and combine only to create a pale impression of the once mighty Invincibles.

Whilst this analysis may carry more than a flicker of truth about it, it simply will not do if one wishes to form an accurate picture of the situation. Monsieur Wenger still has at his disposal an admirable collection of attacking talent that would be the envy of many a man in his position. The defence may creak like an incriminating study door in the dead of night, but the patterns woven by the more creative members of the group can still beguile and – dare one say it – bewitch the sturdiest of fortifications. And are Tottenham Hotspur the sturdiest of fortifications? Alas, one would have to say the answer to that question rests almost entirely on the day-to-day condition of a 30 year old warhorse’s prematurely aged knee.

It would seem churlish then to pass up the offer of 15/8 for over 3.5 goals – can one score half a goal? I confess there is much about the world of turf accountancy that I find unnecessarily confusing – at Bet Chronicle. One may indeed reflect that such an offer was far too generous with the benefit of hindsight.
