Well don't hold ure breath wins as I thought it was garbage.
I think spielberg is going through a late life crisis and trying to go back to his best yrs as a director, the film was even set in the late 70's - early 80's.
It was a mishmash of ET, Close encounters and the Goonies and kept tripping over it's own shoelaces as it couldn't make up what film it was.

30 yrs ago it might have been a hit but i could see straight through it, saying that the daughter enjoyed it but then again she wasn't brought up on Spielberg.

And coincidently Wins I watched 'The Lincoln Lawyer' straight afterwards, its a decent film but reminded me of a TV movie, I've never read the novel but enjoy Michael connelly books and have a feeling the movie may have took a few short cuts , still it was good viewing never the less, i enjoyed that a lot more than 'Super 8'.

Never heard of it, any good Swoops? b4 i go and imdb it, saying that even thats shite, the amount of times i've watched a film because it has good IMDB reviews and its turned out to be garbage, I'm sure half of those reviews are wrote by the cast.

Its not a CAM is it as they are starting to do my head in.

Does this thread have to be about latest movies? Can it be about old movies too?

I watched Coming to America last night, classic :) I want a royal penis cleaner now.

Got the book Blitz , won it in another comp , autographed by the author , aint read it yet as im bogged down in books at the moment.
Started on that Jo Nesbo bloke , not bad actually although the main characters called Harry Hole which i find disturbing for some reason ..

Nesbo's brilliant. I've a feeling my debt collector character in my new one is based a bit on Harry Hole

Watched 'Winters bone' last night as well, thought it was pretty good, but think you need to be in the right mood as its a bit depressing & might tip you over the edge if you're on one. Kind of a hillbilly noir type film, bit of a strong feminist one as well

I thought Super 8 was one of the worst films I can recall ever seeing. It started quite promisingly but... then... complete bollocks. And I don't think Spielberg had anything to do with it Slick other than as a producer. It was J.J. Abrams.

I can't think of any films I've liked recently. In years even. I'm quite a miserable cunt and hard to please. Yay. Actually!! I did quite enjoy Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes. There was a pretty good cam copy kicking about early doors.

I've been working in Malvern for two weeks and I haven't see a single black or asian. There could be some truth in that statement!

I wonder what they've got cooking down there?

Anyway... listening to Mayo and Kermode's film review yesterday, there seems to be some hype over Kill List and Super 8, both of which I'll be watching when and if I get some damn time! :banghead
