I quite like how Lalo described Saul once as " La Cucaracha" in one episode

Then in episode seven we see a cockroach rushing across the floor in the drain Lalo is using

Now in episode eight we have Lyle singing that little ditty as he opens the store for Gus

    Very clever

I'll put the following as a spoiler in case anyone hasn't seen the latest episode yet, but there's something that's confusing me now

With the scene from BB where Saul gets kidnapped by Walt and Jesse and asks whether Lalo sent them and says that it was all Nacho's fault, it seemed a fairly safe assumption that Saul thought Lalo was still alive. After last night's episode he obviously knows that Lalo's dead, so why would he have thought in the BB scene (however far in the future that is set) that Lalo had sent someone to kidnap him?

I thought that too RC. The only thing I can think of so far is that we still don't know why Saul left Albuquerque to become Gene in Nebraska at the end of breaking bad. When that is explained maybe the thing you highlighted will be explained too.

Pennys just dropped. If you read your second sentence RC - is it obvious that Saul thinks this as he has not seen what we saw watching the programme? He was told something once and it turned out not to be the case and will now know for sure what happened as he wasn't there ...

I have not phrased this too well but I am trying not to give too much away and I don't know how to do the spoiler thing. Hope you get the idea

I've edited your last post, Colbro, to add the spoiler thing around what you've written. To do it, write the word SPOILER in square brackets at the beginning, and /SPOILER in square brackets at the end. There's a little guide here to all those kind of tags - http://betnod.com/help/bb-codes :thumb

Anyway, going back into spoiler mode myself:

You could be right. From what I remember, I think Mike told Saul and Kim when he was telling them what happens next that Lalo "won't be coming back", but didn't specifically say he was dead, although it was certainly implied. And as you say, they already thought he was dead once before, when Fring tried to have him killed in Mexico.

Actually, thinking about it - did Saul even know that the hit on Lalo had failed? Mike told Kim when they met in that cafe to explain why she was being followed, because he said she was made of sterner stuff and could handle it, so she definitely knew. But did she tell Saul? Or did he know nothing about it until Lalo turned up at their flat and killed Howard?

Anyway, with the attention the writers always pay to every last detail in BB and BCS, presumably there is a logical explanation which will maybe be revealed later

Well that's totally ruined it for me. I didn't want to know how to do that.

I was about to question Lalo being dead but obviously the latest series has already started:banghead
I've only just got over Howard being shot.

Bloody hell Slick, were the spoiler tags and the fact I wrote "in case anyone hasn't seen the latest episode yet" not enough to give you a clue? :duh:lol

Have to wait until 22:30 on Tuesday over here for the new episode to come out.

Anyway, last night answered my question from last week about whether or not Saul knew that Lalo had survived the hit.

Not sure I'm keen on that jump forward in the timeline, although will see how the rest of the episodes pan out as a result. Presumably we're now into the Breaking Bad timeline - the bit about public masturbation ties in with Saul's first appearance in BB, I think, didn't he get his files mixed up and think Badger had been accused of public masturbation rather than drug dealing?

Have we seen the last of Kim in BCS? I suspect not, I reckon she's going to pop up in some way in the Gene Takovic storyline whenever they come back to that.

And I'll put the following in a separate spoiler, as it's based on next week's episode (it's something that's already widely known, but I'll put it as a spoiler just in case anyone doesn't want to take the chance):

Next week's episode is supposed to be the one where Walt and Jesse appear. After last night's skip forward in the Saul timeline, we've now got to be somewhere around the time they kidnapped Saul. Will we revisit that incident and see some kind of explanation for Saul asking if Lalo sent them?

    Another cracking episode.

I did have a chuckle at the fact that Don Eladio looks 20 years older in this episode than he did in Breaking Bad, which came years after this :p

The same can be said for Mike and Saul of course but I guess we've just got used to them. Credit to BCS for just going with it and not trying to de-age the actors which often looks awful.

yeah I think it 100% has to be the kidnap scene, as you say they made a point of Saul mentioning the public masturbating which ties in with Badger's arrest.

I think I read that Bryan Cranston said they wouldn't have bothered coming back if it was just one quick scene so maybe we get a full episode of them? I'm looking forward to seeing how they wrap up Gene's storyline, will he hand himself in or maybe find Kim?

I think I read somewhere the other day that Walt and Jesse have one scene together, and then one other scene each, so not sure about the whole episode. Also read something from I think either Vince Gilligan or Peter Gould saying they wouldn't just bring back Walt and Jesse for the sake of it, their appearance is going to be significant for the overall storyline.

As for Kim, they've made quite the point of showing that Kim grew up in Nebraska, which of course is where Saul/Gene has ended up. A deliberate attempt to mislead us (quite possible), or is Kim still going to have some kind of part to play in the Gene timeline?

The last time we saw Gene (too long ago) was when he contacted the guy so he could disappear again after that guy recognised him, but changed his mind and said that he's 'gonna fix it himself'. That points to him handing himself in but you just don't know with these writers.

They don't really do happy endings so unsure if Gene reunites with Kim, but as you say, Nebraska is where she grew up so that could easily be where she is now.

Interesting to see how they fill the last 4 episodes.

Yeah, don't think it's necessarily going to be a happy ending with Gene and Kim, but I do think she's going to be involved somehow.

Seems the taxi driver that recognises Gene as Saul is going to be involved in the final episodes too, they've had to recast as the original actor had other commitments - https://ew.com/tv/better-call-saul-jeff-role-recast/

I started watching Gomorrah last week and its been brilliant.
It's Italian and as far as I know and I'm on series two now, there's no dubbed version just subtitles but it's worth it, not quite BB but not far away, probably the best TV series I've watched since BB.
It's about the Naples Mafia, but nothing like the Godfather or Soprano's, It's modern day so think council estates and little fcuking scroats on motor bikes, something no doubt most of us can associate with.

If you haven't seen it and don't mind subs then give it a watch, you won't be dissapointed.
