It's for people like me who can't read. Me and Moans have binged watched upto series 4 this week, plenty of unexpected nasty shocks to be had which keep the storylines interesting.
Finished Gomorra and it was brilliant, I really enjoyed it from start to finish. Straight after I binge watched The Sopranos, which was also very good although not as good as Gomorra imo but you can see similarities in the main actor. Where Genny in Gommora is trying to copy Tony Sopranos traits, especially his flickering eyes which Genny really over eggs and makes him look stupid. Film wise, Stand out ones are the Terrifier and Terrifier2, a bit gruesome but one of the few movies where I found the sequel to be a better watch. Both as barmy as each other and look cheaply made, but the directing and story keep you interested to the very end. I thought 'Smile' was good too although some of the reviews say otherwise, like all horror films , if you watch it with an open mind and switch off from reality you'll really enjoy it.
Sopranos is literal the worst ending to a TV show I’ve ever known . Me and a mate still rant about it now when we see each other as we watched it at the same time and we’re fucking fuming at the shit ending. Have you seen the recent film which is supposed to be Tony as a teenager ? It starts in the cafe that the series ends in
Slow Horse's ( Apple TV). Probably one of the best series I've watched. Based on the books of Mick Heron about a bunch rejects from the secret service. Sounds lame , but it really is excellent.
Couldn't agree more, the ending was wank. Yeah I also watched the recent movie, don't bother it's just as wank as the ending and doesn't really give up anything you don't already know.
The excuse was that they left it open to the viewer's interpretation as to whether or not Tony Soprano died in a shoot out. If I wanted to make my own endings, I'd write my own fucking stories you cunts.
Plus Dexter got a second chance of putting the shit ending right and did an ok'ish job of it. Whereas The Sopranos had a few yrs to sort themselves out before Tonys real demise and did fcuk all about it. 1-0 Dexter
Severance ( Apple). Weirdly good , you sign up to get your memory wiped out while at work. Once out of work you have no idea what your job is. Not the best explanation, sets off slow put really picks up. Can't give a more detailed version of events as it would spoil it.
If anybody gets a minute try and watch 'Meet the Whittakers' on youtube, it's a series of small independent documentaries about an inbred American family, it's real life and reminds me of the last time I visited Leigh lol. I found it intriguing and pretty horrific in a human despairing way, It makes you realise how lucky most of us are and how petty the moaning bastards we see and listen to everyday in real life and on the news are. Intro to the current family.....
Recently watched Bad Sisters, written by and starring Sharon Horgan of Catastrophe fame. Decent black comedy drama.
I think I mentioned that somewhere amongst this thread, I enjoyed it very much and thought it was a good laugh too @ times.
Talking of black comedies, I watched 'Tony the serial killer' the other day, it's not new , It's a movie from around 2010, not really a comedy either tell the truth lol but it's definitely takes a black sense of humour to enjoy it. If I was asked to create a tagline for this movie it would be 'Everybody knows a Tony'
That might have been where I got the idea to watch it then, can't remember for sure but it was a really good show. Renewed for another series but I'm not sure where they can go with it.
Didn't know it had been renewed for a second series and like you I don't know what direction they could take it or whether I'd watch it as the ending WAS very much final. I see 'Your Honor' with Bryan Cranstan has just started it's second season , that should be worth a watch as it's an excellent series and there's a lot of paths it could take unlike Bad Sisters.
Just watched M3GAN and it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I was looking forward to it too after seeing rave reviews early doors , Think of a Chucky/Terminator hybrid and it pretty much sums up M3GAN.
