Thought it was interesting that trainer Michael Appleby sends just ROBERTO ESCOBARR over to Italy for the Group 3 Premio St Leger Italiano today on what is the horses first start for the trainer , and that jockey Marco Ghiani goes along for the one ride (his first ride)

Was fifth of seven in the Prix MauriceDe Nieuil at Longchamp (Group 2) on his last start for Willie Haggas back in July , was fourth before that to Quickthorn (Class 1 - Listed) but had won the time before that , beating Nate The Great by a neck in the Group 3 Henry II Stakes at Sandown.

Maybe worth an each way punt depending on price , which i cant seem to find at the mo

    4.30 Kempton - Port Erin 11/2
Having his first start for the Linda Stubbs yard after leaving Simon Crisford , so new surroundings could breathe a bit of new life into him after a rare bad showing when 8th of 12 last time out , before that run had been running well - 1,1,3,2,1 in his last five outings. Two of those were here at Kempton , a third over 7f and a win over this afternoons CD. One from one over CD and a win and a place from two outings here. Trainer brings just this one to the meeting and its a fair old schlepp , so cant see her bringing him here if she didnt think he stood some sort of chance , i think the 11/2 on offer generally isnt a bad price and worth an each way to nothing.

    2.35 Kempton - Coquelicot 10/3 (365,Hills,Coral,SBet,PP,BFred,Lads)
Tight looking listed race where a chance could be given to all five runners to be honest , current odds on favourite Kateira is worthy fave on her second to Irish Point in a grade one at the back end of last season but was thumped 19 lengths on her re appearance last time out , and as this is her first try at the distance i wouldnt be taking the current prices about her chances , COQUELICOT caught my eye as possibly the one to take advantage if the fave fluffs her chances , hasnt been over the obstacles for 296 days but she did have a blowout on the flat where she was a sound second over 2 miles at Newmarket 24 days ago , so hopefully that will have blown the cobwebs away and sharpened her up for todays race. Has run well both times shes been here to Kempton , winning once and placing in another in two outings. Distance and class are both fine as is the going , best form seems to come when soft is mentioned in the description as far as i can see , and wont mind any more rain , as shes won and gone well on heavy as well. Trainer Anthony Honeyball knows the time of day and , for me , seems to be shrewd at placing his horses , has a 22% strike rate over the last couple of weeks and has a 17% strike rate here at Kempton overall. Jockey Rex Dingle knows the horse well having ridden her twelve times resulting in five wins and four places , has a 12% strike rate when coming here to Kempton overall. Selection is not a given by any means but the fact that shes proven here at Kempton , over the distance and on the ground makes me think shes a solid enough alternative to the favourite.

Give me one of your fancies for Tues or Wed please Sean. I've got a free tenner bet to use up on horse racing before end of play tomorrow. I've not been following the horses really so I either stick it on the king George or Cheltenham antepost or you could advise something that might have a chance
