Like the look of a couple in this handicap , first one being SONGO who has been holding his own at this sort of level since his return to action back in May of this year after just over a year off - 1,3,1,2,1,9 .. I think he can be forgiven that run last time out in the class 2 Coral Mallard Handicap at Doncaster where he may well of found himself out of his depth , returning to a class 4 i think he'll find this much more to his liking. I also think a return to a course where he seems to do well at wont hurt his chances either , over todays CD he has two wins and a second to his name from three outings. Trainer Milton Harris only has this one runner out today and it could pay to take note of that fact as his horses have been running well of late , 50% strike rate over the past fortnight and since the 26th September he's sent out 5 winners from 6 runners. He's also done well at Salisbury this season with a 50% strike rate along with a healthy profit of +£17.25. Jockey Rob Hornby has been in decent enough form lately with a 12% SR in the past 2 weeks , and he has a 1st and a 5th from his two rides on the horse. Think he can make his presence felt here if on song. The other one i like is KINGS CASTLE who comes into this off bottom weight , has been a bit hit and miss in his last few runs admittedly but did win by 3 lengths back in June at Newbury. Like my other selection for the race i think his last run can be forgiven , as it was his first run for a new stable , leaving Jospeh Tuites for Jeremy Scotts yard. Trainer been quiet lately but hasnt sent out many runners tbh , but does have a 33.3% strike rate here at Salisbury this term and he's a trainer i rate and the fact he sends just this one out i think is worth noting, Horse has placed (2nd) on only run here and wears a tongue strap for the first time. Jockey Dave Probert gets the leg up on the horse for the first time and he has a 12% strike rate over the past fortnight , and seems to ride Salisbury well , over the past 5 years he's managed to get a 15% SR along with a profit of +£37.43. If putting his best foot forward i think he could be in the firing line.

BIRKENHEAD won a 20 runner class 4 handicap at York back in July , and though he hasnt recaptured that form in his four races since he has been running reasonably well , and i think he could run well here this evening having dropped to his last winning mark. Has placed on his only run over todays CD and trainer Paul Midgeley , who has a 13% strike rate over the past three weeks , sends just this one to the meeting , whilst Jockey David Nolan also travels here for just the one ride. Been amongst the winners lately with a 21% strike rate in the past fortnight , and seems to do pretty well here at Wolverhampton with a 12% strike rate (since 2010). Also caught my eye that trainer and jockey have teamed up once in the past 3 weeks and that resulted in a winner. A few look to hold chances but at the price i'm happy enough to side with Birkenhead.

A 16 runner handicap at Windsor is probably not the best race to try and find the winner of if im being honest but i really like the chances of VAPE i have to say. Since leaving Tony Carrolls' yard for John Flints he has held his form pretty well (since March 22) - 6,1,2,3,3,4,3,2,2,5,5 so he's pretty much been there or thereabouts on all his starts this year . This looks slightly easier than his last coupla races and the fact that he's now only a lb higher than when he last won catches my eye. Trainer is in flying form of late , in the past month he's knocked out a 36.4% strike rate and when he's sent runners to Windsor this season he's got a 20% strike rate along with a profit of +£10.00. Aiden Keeley gets the steering job for the first time , and although he doesnt seem to be in the best of form when he and John Flint have teamed up in the past three weeks they have a 33.3% strike rate. And his 5lb claim can only help the cause. I always liked a high draw at Windsor in the old days (Monday night racing) so the fact he's berthed in stall 16 caught my eye , i think if he's on a going day then Vape can definatley be in at the finish.

Quite a tricky race to weigh up but looking at the race all those at the top end of the betting look beatable for one reason or another so i'm gonna take a chance with ROCK MELODY who is one from one over todays CD and though werent at his best lto when 7th at Kempton has been running well enough without winning since his return to the fray in May - 3,5,3,3,7 . Trainer KP De Foy sends a trio out today but only this one makes the trip to Wolverhampton , and he has a 19% strike rate over the past two weeks, whilst at Wolverhampton as a whole he's currently on a decent 21% SR. Think its interesting that he's secured the services of talented claimer Taylor Fisher (has ridden the horse before , coming 3rd of 6 at Lingfield on penultimate run) whose an up n coming jockey i rate (as i have mentioned before on this thread) and he has a 20% SR over the past month along with a very healthy profit of +£28.03. Not the best of draws admittedly but i think he can go close here at a decent price.
