It will be held in some converted old shipyard in Copenhagen, where the acoustics may be as awful as previous years. The semi-finals will take place on 6th and 8th May with Ireland's Kasey Smith in the second, who you can hear below, the Grand Final to be held on Saturday 10th May.

A bland song with some favourite Eurovision ingredients. It should qualify amidst a poor field but will struggle in the Final.

The German finals will take place on March 13th and this song must be the favourite. Even the band's second song is better than all the others to date.

Hungary have their strongest entry for years with Andras Kallay-Saunders,who has a great voice and the choreography is not bad either. It's a top 3 song at the moment.

Finland will be represented by Killers-soundalike Softengine. The song stands out in a poor field, though the lead singer does struggle with his diction.

Switzerland has chosen 28-year-old Swiss-Italian Sebalter and his cheekiness might just get them through, though unkind critics might compare him unfavourably with 2009 winner Alexander Ryback.

Does Malta's song sound a bit like Gary Barlow's Let Me Go? Either way both songs are cringeworthy.

Have we all become too sophisticated to appreciate Latvia's entry: Cake To Bake. I can't see them setting the world alight and the illusory violinist is the icing on the cake for this not to qualify.

Not much hope for Ukraine at the moment with this song needing a rework instrumentally to add something over and above the clock tick-tock rhyme.

Ruth Lorenzo is visually appealing for Spain but what a pity she loses the confidence to play it straight and resorts to Shouting in the Rain.

We've come to expect better from Iceland over the years, which makes this year's entry such a disappointment and a bit of a joke.

If you don't know how to bake a cake how about some cheesecake. This song from Belarus should easily qualify.

The French must think we're all a bit touched and I wouldn't touch this admittedly happy song in what will turn out to be another dearth year for France.

F.Y.R Macedonia has gone retro out of its comfort zone which might just make it qualify in one of the few former Yugoslav countries to compete this year.

Poland's Geri Halliwell copies Romania's 2009 Balkan Girls idea and one hopes the BBC doesn't have something similar in store for us on Monday.

Lithuania's Vilija tries to grab attention in a black froufrou but this is borderline qualification.

Loreen's influence seems to be ubiquitous but Estonia's song needs a complete rework if it's to qualify.

Romania has chosen a catchy song with the two voices complementing themselves beautifully..
