3.15 Doncaster - Son Of The Somme 7/2 (Hills)
Last time out winner SON OF THE SOMME who looks to be an improving sort catches my eye in this , has placed twice from his three runs here at Doncaster but has won and placed at todays distance from his two runs. The main thing thats caught my eye is the fact he's a very consistent and reliable type and though he only won by a neck last time he did show determination and grit to hold on , and the form of that race is looking strong as the second home has gone in twice since , the third came second on his next race and then won next time out , the fifth has come second on his next two outings , the sixth home won on next outing and came second last time .. so hard to argue that the form doesnt look decent imho. Trainer has just this one at the meeting today , whilst jockey Henry Brooke gets the leg up , has ridden the horse four times resulting in a win and three places and when he and the trainer have teamed up over the past three weeks they come away with a 40% strike rate. Should be battling it out come the line.

    7.45 Newcastle - Venturous 9/2 (365) - Pockley 9/2 (365)
Couple in this stand out for me , the first one is VENTUROUS who is a bit of a course specialist with five wins and two places from eleven runs here at Newcastle , over this evenings CD that record is 4 wins and 2 places from 9 runs so obviously has a liking for it round here. Was a sound second to the re opposing Badri last time out over CD , was beaten 1/2 length so i think now he has a 2lb pull in the weights with that one he can reverse that form and come out on top here. Trainer brings just the one to the meeting and he has a 25% strike rate over the past fortnight , and hes always one that i look out for in sprint races. Jockey Ben Curtis in the hot seat and he has a 50% strike here this season , as well as a decent 22.3% strike rate overall when riding here along with a very eyecatching profit of +£55.41. All things considered i think he'll be making his presence felt. The other one i like in the race is POCKLEY , who like my other selection seems to be a bit of a standing dish round here with five wins and five places from his twelve runs , and over tonights CD only been unplaced once from five outings (two wins and two places). Beat the re opposing Dandy Dinmont last time out , by a neck , and i think he's gonna confirm those placings here. Trainer only brings this one here , and she's bang in form at the moment with a 50% strike rate in the past month , so anything she runs at the moment would warrant a second look imho , and she does well here on the whole too. Jockey Andrea Atzeni gets the ride for the first time and he's banging in the winners at the moment with a 27% strike rate over the past 21 days , and he has a 40% strike rate here at Newcastle this term. Should be in the mix.

    6.30 Wolverhampton - Carlos Felix 9/2 (Hills)
A few come into this in decent form but the selection CARLOS FELIX hadnt been at his best before having a break to be honest , but im hoping that now hes had a nice bit of R&R he'll be ready to roll and will be in better form especially as this is an easier race than he's used to running in. Has run twice here over CD , placing both times , but has won at the distance so thats a positive for me. Trainer has two entered in the race but for me this one is the best of them , and they're his only runners at the meeting , he has a 14.3% strike rate when sending his runners here this term. Jockey Dougie Costello in the saddle for the first time and he's been amongst the winners of late , and this season he has a 15.8% strike rate at the course. If anywhere near his best i cant see the selection being far away.

    2.10 Cheltenham - Gin Coco 10/1 (Hills)
As you'd expect plenty look to hold chances in this open looking handicap hurdle but i'm gonna come down firmly on the side of the lightly raced GIN COCO who i think could go close here. Was placed on his only start here , second in the Greatwood back in November of last year. Hasnt raced since then but i cant imagine that the trainer hasnt got him prepped and ready for this , and i'm expecting a decent run off what looks to be a nice weight. Since going to Harry Frys' yard at the front end of last year he's managed two wins and two seconds from his four runs. JJ Burke has ridden him in three of those runs (including the Greatwood outing) and has won once and placed in a further two. Trainer Harry Fry is one to be respected i think and i think hes probably had this race in mond for the horse for sometime. Definatley think he's going to be in the mix come the business end of things.

    4.10 Cheltenham - Go Go Geronimo 33/1 (365,Hills,Coral,BFred,Lads)
Well I've said it before and i'll say it again Hunter Chases are not my forte (I sometimes wonder if anything is lol) but something keeps dragging me back to GO GO GERONIMO who i think can go well at a nice price today. Obviously up against some talented sorts but I think with a bit of luck this one could surprise. Comes into this with two wide winning margin points under his belt , both by a decisive 25 lengths , interestingly enough he has never been unplaced in a PTP , winning 5 and placing 9 in his 14 outings to date. Whilst under rules he has placed in both his runs so far , one of those over this afternoons CD , when he got pipped by a neck last April. Looking through his record he seems a reliable sort who can be relied upon to run his race and i honestly cant see any reason why he shouldnt do so again here . The usual pilot is on board (for just this one) and from the results i'd say the pair have struck up a decent partnership. Trainer here for just this one and has only been with Kelly Morgan since January of this year , resulting in the two aforementioned point wins. Obviously some well fancied sorts in this who have to be respected but at the price i think the selection is well worth a go.

    2.50 Cheltenham - Rock My Way 33/1 (Hills,Coral,BFred,Lads)
Some well fancied horses in this one as you'd expect , representing some powerful stables and connections but i think its possible that ROCK MY WAY could cause an upset / surprise at a decent price. Has only had two races under rules and they've both been here at Cheltenham where he acquitted himself well. In the first race (class 2) he was only beaten a length and a quarter by We'veallbeencaught and then in the second he beat Pembroke by a length and a half , that one was the Grade 2 Ballymore Novices' Hurdle ... so i dont think the course and the run in will be an issue for him. Had only had three runs in points prior to that , placing in one of them and winning another. I think he looks a decent sort and with plenty of scope for improvement i think he could well feature in this. Those two runs here were both over 2m4f but i have no worries about the extra distance today as all three of his PTP runs were over 3m. Trainer Syd Hosie brings just this one to the meeting and Nick Scholfield who is in the hot seat for the first time also here for just the one ride , the pair teamed up in the Cross Country Chase earlier in the week with Lieutenant Rocco and came a nice 4th at 100/1. Hopefully they can go three better with the selection.

    1.30 Ffos Las - John Betjeman 5/1 (365,Hills,SkyB,PPower)
Trappy looking six runner race where a case could be made for all of them if im being honest , but i'm going to go with last years winner JOHN BETJEMAN to repeat the feat. The selection isnt the most consistent it has to be said but has run well the last twice , when second and then third last time out , and what really catches my attention is his record here at Ffos Las where he's three from four over todays CD and three wins and a place from five runs at the course overall , so obviously has a liking for it round here. Trainer brings just this one here and jockey Joe Anderson is also here for just this one on his sole start of the day , he was on the horse when he won the race last year and i think its interesting that he is in the plate again today. At the 5/1 i think he's a decent enough to have a go.

    6.15 Newcastle - Bobby Joe Leg 7/1 (365)
Quite like the look of Ruth Carrs' BOBBY JOE LEG in this class 6 handicap. Can usually be relied upon to run his race and comes into this on the back of a sound effort at Southwell last time out where he came third. Has five wins and five places from his 35 runs over CD (and six wins and seven places from 39 runs overall) , so safe to say that he knows his way round here , and looks to me to be decently drawn. He's also won off higher than todays mark which encourages me that a decent run could be on the cards. Trainer brings just this one to the meeting and she's enjoying a purple patch at the moment with a 31% strike rate over the past three weeks and has a 21.1% strike rate when sending her runners here this season. Jockey James Sullivan is also here for just this one , and he has won six times and placed in a further 11 from 48 rides aboard the horse , and he has a 22% strike rate over the past fortnight. Theres a few in the race who worry me tbh specially the Irish raider but at the price on offer i'm willing to have a go that the selection can come out on top.

    2.40 Newbury - Dr TJ Eckleburg 11/4 (365,Hills)
A few of these look as though they could take a hand in the finish but i'm favouring DR TJ ECKLEBURG whose ran with credit in his two runs since returning from a lay off. Has run well on only start over todays CD , when he came second last season. Should have blown the cobwebs away from those two outings and i think he'll be going close here , his trainer Olly Murphy sends just this one to the course and he's been in cracking form lately with a 30% strike rate over the past two weeks , so for me anything he runs warrants a second look. Aiden Coleman in the plate and he has a win and two places from 5 rides aboard the horse and when he's paired up with the trainer in the past 21 days they've got a 66% strike rate. Dont think he's gonna be far away.

    4.10 Newbury - Ballymagroarty Boy 17/2 (Coral,Lads) - Ballycamus 8/1 (365)
A couple catch my eye in this open looking handicap hurdle , first one is top weight BALLYMAGROARTY BOY whose only won once in 18 hurdle races but has often run well in defeat (5 seconds and three thirds) and i can see him adding to his tally sooner rather than later if i'm being honest. Comes into this in decent enough form , second and third in last couple of races , and i can see no reason why he shouldnt go well again today , has placed on his sole run here and has ran well on the ground so that shouldnt be an issue. Nigel Hawke is a trainer i respect and he has his string in decent form at the moment with a 29% strike rate over the past fortnight and the fact that he sends just this one to the meeting caught my attention , whilst jockey Tom Buckley is also here for just the one and he seems to get on well with the horse , having had 10 rides , winning one and placing in a further six , he takes a valuable 3lb off the horses back and when he's ridden for the trainer over the past three weeks they've managed to knock out a very respectable 36% strike rate. Seems to ride well here with a 40% strike rate overall. I think he'll be making his presence felt and can hopefully win his second hurdles race. The other one i like the look of is BALLYCAMUS who comes into this after a sound second over 2m4f here at Newbury last time out , just getting beaten by a short head , this step up in trip should suit and be more to his liking as in his three races over todays distance his figures read - F,3.1 .. hes also ran well over 3m2f coming third. Has also won on the going so that shouldnt be an issue. Trainer NTD runs just the one at the meeting and he has a 15.7% strike rate over the past month along with a profit of +£27.00 and has done well here this term with a 20% strike rate at Newbury. Jockey Jordan Nailor is one i rate and he was on the horse last time out , making it two places from two outings to date. Hes also here for the one ride , and has a 25% strike rate in the past fortnight. Think he can go well at a decent price.

    Saturday 25th March

    5.30 Wolverhampton - Coloane 5/1 (Hills) - Annalee Lass 7/2 (365)
Two of the antagonists stand out for me in this one , the first one of those is COLOANE who comes into this on the back of a decent second here last time out , a repeat of that effort will see him go close here in my opinion. Since coming back from a lay off she has run with credit on all three starts so far. Willie Jarvis takes just this one to the meeting whilst jockey Franny Norton also attends for just this one for his first time on the horse , always take note when he has just one ride as he's a jock i rate and i think its better to have him onside rather than against you in all honesty , been amongst the winners lately with a 20% strike rate over the past coupla weeks. If running as she has been then she should be in the firing line. The other one i like is ANNALEE LASS who like my other selection comes into this in decent form , left John McConnells yard for Lawrence Mullaney at the beginning of the year and after a moderate start (6th) upped her game to come third , her next run (penultimate run) saw her make her handicap debut where she saw off Leap Year Lad by a neck at 66/1 , she followed that up with a sound second last time out. If continuing in the same sort of form i can see her going very close here this evening. Trainer has been bang in form with a 66.7% strike rate over the past month and this is the only one he's sent here , whilst jockey Mark Winn claims a valuable 5lb , and is one of the better claimers in my honest opinion. Has ridden the horse once before resulting in a third place. Been doing well here at Wolverhampton this term with a 15.4% strike rate and a nice profit of +£15.50 to boot. Should be making here presence felt come the line.

    1.30 Newbury - Artistic Choice 8/1 (Coral,BFred,Lads)
Very open looking novices handicap hurdle where a whole host of runners look in with chances tbh , but i'm liking the chances of one of Michael Bells' rare foray into jumpers in ARTISTIC CHOICE. Since joining Bells yard from Donnacha O'Briens in October '22 the selection has pretty much ran well in all outings , and since going hurdling his record reads - 1,5,4,1,2. Those last two runs have probably been his best efforts to date for me , and last time out he ran a blinder in defeat here , only going down by 3/4 length. I think this extra distance will play to his strengths and i expect him to be battling it out at the business end. The fact that he's running off a nice low weight catches my eye as well and imho can only help his cause here today. Trainer runs only this one here , and he's enjoying a purple patch at the moment with a 44.4% strike rate over the past month , so obviously worth giving his runners a good look , Jockey Harry Cobden in the hot seat and he has ridden him the last twice , 1st and 2nd , and he's been riding well , in the past month hes showing a strike rate of 27.9% strike rate. To me , everything looks right for a big run and at the price i'm happy enough to take my chances.

    2.40 Newbury - Presenting A Queen 14/1 (Hillls)
Well as you'd expect in a Grade 2 at Newbury this Mares Novices Hurdle looks wide open with plenty of the runners looking to hold chances , but i like the look of PRESENTING A QUEEN whose been a model of consistency since starting her career under rules .. won her first three races , very first one here at Newbury in a bumper making her the sole course winner in the field which is always a plus in my book. Has run well in defeat since those wins in her three outings and was a sound second last time at Market Rasen. Trainer Chris Gordon has a 17% strike rate in the past fortnight , Bryony Frost is onboard for the first time and she comes to the meeting for this one ride , and she's a good enough jockey for me to think thats a positive. As i said at the beginning a wide open affair but i think theres enough to think that the selection can go well and give the principals something to think about at a decent price.

    Sunday 26th March

    2.07 Exeter - Pilsdon Pen 7/2 (Hills,Coral) - Issam 5/1 (365)
I like the look of a couple in this six runner affair , the first one of those is PILSDON PEN whose been in great form of late , since coming back from a long lay off his figures are - 1,3,3 (and to be fair he'd be in top form before that break as well , since January 2022 his form reads - 1,2,1,2,1,3,3) .. His last time out run can be forgiven i think as he just didnt seem to get the trip , this drop back in distance will suit in my opinion , has run over this distance before and been placed , and i think he'll be seen in a much better light here and hopefully can be bang there at the business end of things. Has won on his only visit to Exeter , which is a plus in my book. Horse is trainer Jeremy Scotts' sole runner on the card , and he fares pretty well here at Exeter with a 13.6% strike rate this season along with a small profit. Jockey Rex Dingle in the saddle and he seems to get on well with the horse with three wins and three places from eight rides , has a 15% strike rate over the past month and like the trainer has a respectable enough 15.4% strike rate at the course this term along with a small profit. I definatley think the selection should be on the premises. The other one i'm siding with is ISSAM who is coming into this on the back of two decent seconds in his last two races , they both came after having the tongue tie refitted and as its retained today i am hoping that it can work the oracle once again , only going one place better ! The latter second was here at Exeter on the horses first run at the course so is one place from one run , he's being stepped up in trip today but i cant see that being a problem and hopefully can eke out a bit of improvement from him. Trainer Tom Symonds has just this one out here , and jockey Jordan Nailor also here for just this one , he has ridden the horse on his last two outings (so two places from two rides) and he's bang in form at the moment with a 38% strike rate over the past two weeks and has a 25% strike rate when coming here this season. Should be in the mix where it matters.
