    3.35 Ripon - Land Of Winter 7/1 (365,Hills,Coral,SkyBet,BFred,Lads)
This looks to be an open looking race but i like the look of LAND OF WINTER who was 6th of 8 last time out on his re appearance after a 176 day break , im failry sure that he will have come on for that run and i think a better showing can be expected here today. One from one over todays CD making him the only CD winner in the race , and is steadily come down the weights , one thing that stood out for me is the fact that he wont mind the going as he's won (and placed) on soft and heavy going so todays conditions shouldnt pose a problem and neither should any further rain. Trainer Rae Guest sends just this one up to Ripon from Newmarket , and he does well when sending them to the course , overall he has a 28.6% strike rate along with a small profit of +£6.50. Paul Mulrennan in the saddle and he has a win and a place from hos three rides aboard the horse and he too does well when coming to Ripon with a 14.4% strike rate and a profit of +£12.93. All things considered i think he can go close here at what i consider to be a decent price.

    5.15 Ripon - Another Batt 16/1 (365)
A few look as though they stand a chance in this but ANOTHER BATT caught my eye , especially at the prices on offer , is one from one here at Ripon , and though not prolific has won at todays distance. Hasnt won for a while , last win was back in October 2021 at Doncaster , and that came on soft so todays ground shouldnt be an issue. Because he hasnt won for a while hes been coming down the weights , and as it stands , i think that gives him a decent chance here in this. Hasnt run particularly well on either start this year if im being honest , but if he can step up on those (and he'll have to) and come in to this nearer his old self then he should making his presence felt. If i remember correctly then low numbers are best over a mile here and as he has the one stall thats another thing that could go in his favour. Trainers not been firing on all cyclinders it has to be said but hes one of those you dont under estimate as he knows how to ready one , and he has a 12% strike rate when coming to Ripon overall. Sam James on board for the first time , and hes been riding well lately with a 24% strike rate over the past fortnight . As ive said he would have to improve on his two outings so far , but thats entirely possible given his trainer , and i just feel the price is too big to leave.

    5.25 Leicester - Stallone 6/1 (365)
STALLONE comes into this on the back of a length and three quarters fourth last time out , the re opposing Ey Up Its Jazz a place behind , and there was a lot to like about about that effort. Hasnt won for a while it has to be said but looking at that lto run his time could be close , and the fact that hes won off much higher than this didnt go un noticed either. Has placed on every start over todays CD , three , and at the course as a whole has a win and three places from five runs. Has won over the distance though so no issues there imo , and has gone well on soft / heavy so no problems regarding the going. Trainer Michael Dods brings just this one here and despite not being in the best of form at the moment hes one of those trainers i always look at in races of these types over this sort of distance. The fact that the capable David Probert is in the plate for the first time did catch my eye as well. Should be making his presence felt when it matters.

    6.00 Wolverhampton - Cappananty Con 9/2 (365,Hills,Coral,SkyBet,BFred,Lads) - Storm Asset 20/1 (365)
Wide open race wjere a case could be made for a hole host of the runners , four made the shortlist but two in particular stand out for me , the first of those is CAPPANANTY CON , whose on a bit of a losing run but run his best race for a while when a solid looking 1/2 length second last time out to Monaadhil at Chelmsford. In all fairness despite not having got his head in front for a while he has been running decently , and in the main has been consistent , i think his time is sooner rather than later and hopefully this evening is it. Always seems to put his best hoove forward here at Wolverhampton with 4 wins and 2 places from 10 outings. Slightly off putting that he hasnt won over the distance but has run well over it before so not too much of a concern i suppose. Michael Attwater has just this one at the course , and has a 13% strike rate over the last coupla weeks. Aiden Keeley in the hot seat for the first time and hes been doing well this term when riding at Wolverhampton with a 16% strike rate. If in the same sort of mood as last time he shouldnt be far away today. At a bigger price the other one i like is STORM ASSET who hasnt been in the best of form since returning from a lay off but im hopeful that a better showing could be on the cards with the return to 7f , to me he seems to run better over 7f with a record of - 12,2,2,1,3,1,1,8,3 .. and the return to this course could prove to be a shrewd move as well as he has a win and a place from his two runs over this evenings CD. Now operating a lb below his last winning mark i think he could go close here at a nice price. Tony Carrolls runners can never be written off and he has a 13.8% strike rate here this term , whilst claimer Molly Gunn comes here for just this one ride , takes off a valuable 7lb , for her first ride on the horse. I think he could go close here. A decent showing would be no surprise.

    2.15 Sandown - Certainly Red 10/1 (365,Coral,BFred,Lads) - Kittys Light 7/2 (365,Coral.Hills,SkyBet,BFred,Lads)
Like the look of two in the big un at Sandown , first of those is the Scots National hero KITTYS LIGHT , who on the face of it is a pretty skinny price in a race like this , but so he was when i liked him for the National and look what happened there ! Anyways the price on offer is just about acceptable i think , won the Scots National last time , beating Coopers Cross by 3 lengths and in all honesty was probably a bit of value for a little further , is due to go up 6lb in the future so could of gotten in here lightly all things considered. Part of me thinks that this could come to soon after last time but then i think the trainer wouldnt even entertain the thought of running him of he wasnt fit , well and ready to do himself justice so thats good enough for me. Has placed in both runs over todays CD , both in this race , was second in 2021 and then third , off 5lb higher , last year so knows his way round here. Christian Williams sends just this one to Sandown from his Glamorgan yard , and he has a 17% strike rate over the last two weeks , whilst regular pilot Jack Tudor gets the leg up on whats his sole ride of the meeting , been riding well , in the last two weeks hes amassed a 31% strike rate and from the 21 rides hes had on the horse he comes away with 5 wins and 8 places. When the trainer and jockey have teamed up over the last three weeks they have a 33% strike rate. Admittedly i think its gonna be a tough ask , but the horse is a tough stayer , and i think he could just do it. The other one i like is CERTAINLY RED , whose a reliable sort and has certainly taken to the chasing game , when you look at his completed chase runs it reads - 2,4,1,1,1,1 and in his only other chase race he can be considered unlucky as he was brought down when going well enough. Probably needed the race last time out when 9th of 14 in a handicap hurdle at Ascot , and should hopefully be spot on for this today. Before the break he has racked up a three timer , one of those coming over 2m4f here at Sandown. Hasnt run over this trip yet but has won over 3m1f (Chases) and ran well over 3m2f (those ones coming over Hurdles) so shouldnt be a problem. Lydia Richards has just this one at the meeting , and she has a 50% strike rate when bringing them to Sandown , whilst jockey Caoilin Quinn is also here for just this one , first time aboard the horse but aids the cause by taking off 5lb and has a 16.7% strike rate in the last month. Think that this one could certainly be there or thereabouts come the line.

    3.35 Wetherby - Clear Angel 6/1 (365)
I like the look of CLEAR ANGEL in this one , comes into this on the back of a solid sixth in the Spring Mile at Doncaster at the start of the month , that was a sound effort and a repeat of that performance would defiantley see him going close here this afternoon. That was a class 2 race so quite a drop in grade today which caught my eye. Is one from one over todays CD , and looks decently enough drawn to me. Ground shouldnt be an issue as hes gone well on soft and heavy in the past. Susan Corbet , 11% strike rate in last three weeks , sends just this one up from Northumbria , whilst Graham Lee gets the ride for the first time , and has been amongst the winners with a 16% strike rate in the last three weeks. To me things point to a decent run being on the cards and at the price im more than willing to have a go.

    5.15 Musselburgh - Arrange 7/1 (365,Hills,Coral,Lads)
ARRANGE makes her seasonal debut here today and i think she could well take a hand at the business end of things , has been off 227 days but thats not concerning me too much if im being honest as shes gone well fresh in the past , 2nd after 169 days and 1st after 72 days , so hopefully she can go well again today. A consistent sort , aside from her debut run shes only been outside of the first two once in her career (4th , last year) .. Her sole win has come on turf , over todays CD , so for me thats a tick in the right box. Martin Todhunter takes her on the two and a half hour journey to Musselburgh and i cant see him doing that unless he thought she stood a chance of getting her head in front. David Nolan in the plate and he has a 14% strike rate over the last fortnight , and has ridden the horse three times to date , hasnt won on her - 4th , 3rd and 2nd. Its an open looking race but given her overall profile i think she could go close this afternoon.

    Tuesday 2nd May

    3.20 Brighton - Wisper 17/2 (Hills,Coral,BFred,Lads)
A few of these could run well i think but at the prices WISPER appeals to me , coming back from a 197 day break but that doesnt worry me too much as she won after 229 days off last year , over todays CD , which she seems to excel round as her figures over todays CD read - 1,2,1,1,1. Seems to like this distance as she has 5 wins and 4 places from her 12 runs over it , has won on similar going. Has never run in a class 3 before but has acquitted herself well in class 4s , two seconds and a fourth in her three runs. Trainer Marcus Tregoning sends just this one to Brighton this afternoon and he does well when sending them here , overall he has a 43.8% strike rate along with a decent profit of +£26.36. Dougie Costello in the saddle and hes been riding well with a 30% strike rate in the last fortnight , and has ridden the horse 6 times before resulting in figures of - 1,5,2,1,4,2 , so knows the horse well enough and taking all things into consideration i think shes well worth a punt at the given odds.

    6.00 Newcastle - Appier 11/4 (365,Hills,Lads) - Bristol Hill 5/2 (Hills,Coral,SkyBet,BFred,Lads)
Trappy looking six horse race where all of them look as though they hold some sort of chance but two in particular stand out to me , first one is top weight APPIER who arrives on the back of a solid third last time out , should come on for that run considering that was his first run for 176 days , and every chance of an improved performance today i think. One from one over this evenings CD and has 4 wins and a place from 8 runs over the distance overall. Trainer brings just this one to the course today and has a 25% strike rate over the past two weeks , whilst Ben Curtis takes the reins , has won three of his four rides aboard the horse , and does fairly well when visiting the toon with a 20.2% strike rate and an admirable profit of +£48.91. Should be there or thereabouts when it matters most. BRISTOL HILL is the other one i like the look of , comes into this in fine fettle , winning last time out , beating Carlos Felix by a neck , might of been a short distance but i think he won that a shade cosily tbh and another good showing wouldnt come as a surprise. Hasnt been out of the first two home in last four outings , winning twice and coming second twice. Two of those runs have come over todays CD , where he has won one and come second in the other. Does have a 4lb rise to deal with but i think he'll cope with that and be on the premises come the line. Kevin Frost sends just this one to the course from his Notts base , has a 14.3% strike rate here this season. Sam James gets the steering job for the first time , and he has a 16% strike rate over the last three weeks , and when he and the trainer have paired up in the last three weeks they have a 33% strike rate. Given his recent form i dont think he'll be far away.

    8.45 Wolverhampton - Storm Master 10/3 (Hills,SkyBet) - Martineo 10/3 (Coral,BFred,Lads)
Two for me in this one although a case could be made for most of the runners tbh , firstly STORM MASTER who ran a blinder last time out , just being denied by a short head over 6f at Newcastle. That was a good effort after a break and i can see him coming on for that run now the cobwebs have been blown away. Shouldnt mind the step up in trip to 7f as hes ran twice over CD , and done well both times , coming 3rd on penultimate run and the time before that winning by a comfortable 1/2 length. John Riches brings just this one to the meeting and hes been amongst the winners lately with a 33% strike rate over the last three weeks , James Sullivan rode the horse last time and he gets the leg up once again , has ridden him 4 times to date resulting in a win and a place. Shouldnt be far away i think. MARTINEO is the other horse that caught my eye , comes into this after two sound efforts over todays trip , third on both occasions and last one over CD. Cant see any reason why he shouldnt go well again today , has won and placed over todays CD from five runs , and overall at the course he has four wins and three places from 13 outings so knows his way round here. Caught my eye that he now has a tongue strap for the first time as well as blinkers on (one place from one run with blinkers on) , and that he gets in here off what i consider is a decent mark having won off higher than todays and im hoping that he can capitalise on that here this evening. John Butler has just this one at the meeting , does okay here at Wolverhampton overall / this term but it is concerning that the stable seem to be out of form at the moment though. Lewis Edmunds onboard and hes ridden the horse twice before with no luck , has a 15% strike rate in the last 21 days. I think he can go well and hopefully end the trainers drought.

    3.10 Nottingham - Eurythimcal 9/1 (365,Hills,SkyBet,BFred)
Open looking Fillies handicap where i quite like the look of bottom weight EURYTHMICAL , she made a pleasing enough re appearance last time out when third to Molly Valentine over todays CD , that one was supposed to line up against her again but has been pulled , that was a sound effort and hopefully she'll come on for that outing and be seen to better effect here today. That was her first try over CD , and her first over distance overall , think she handled it okay and could go close today at a nice price. Yet to win a race but has run some decent races in defeat and i think her time will come soon (hopefully today). Kevin Philipart De Foy has two entered in the race (the other one Congruent) and they're his only runners here this afternoon , been in good form of late with a 21.1% strike rate over the last month , whilst Andrea Atzeni is booked to ride for the first time , which caught my eye , has a 50% strike rate here this season and overall he does very well at Nottingham with a 23.6% strike rate alongside a healthy profit of +£36.23 . Hopefully she can improve on her initial outing for the season and make her presence felt where it matters.

    1.30 Ascot - Baltimore Boy 8/1 (365) - Raising Sand 20/1 (365,Coral,SkyBet,Lads)
This is an open looking apprentice handicap imho despite the fact that theres a 'hot' looking favourite in it (Yanaas) , to be honest although the favourite has won his two starts to date this is his first start on turf and its an apprentice handicap and a few come into this holding chances , so not a sure thing in my eyes , i quite the look of two against the field , the first of those is BALTIMORE BOY who was a poor 21st of 22 last time out at Doncaster , but i think there could be excuses for that poor run , the first being he was coming back from 183 days off , and secondly the heavy going could well of gone against him , todays ground should be more to his liking , and now hes blown the cobwebs aways im hoping for a much better effort this afternoon. Had his first turf run just before the lay off , where he ran a creditable second to the re opposing (and my other selection) Raising Sand over todays CD. Trainer Michael Bell hasnt been in the best of form it has to be said but you could never write his runners off regardless , and has a 10% strike rate here at Ascot overall. 7lb claimer Joe Bradnam gets his first ride on the horse , and hes not bad on his day. Can see him going well here. As i wrote a little earlier the other selection is RAISING SAND , was a solid fourth in the Spring Mile at Doncaster on return to action at the beginning of last month , but threw in a poor effort last time when only managing tenth at Newmarket. I think a better run could well be on the cards now hes returning to a course where he rarely runs a bad race .. 3 wins and 2 places from 10 runs over todays CD. Gets in here off 89 but has won off as high as 103 before , and whilst getting on in years , oldest runner in the field , i personally dont think that hes a back number just yet and running at a track he clearly excels at i think he could go close at a tasty price. Jamie Osbourne sends just this one to the meeting , and he has a 14% strike rate when sending them to Ascot , whilst daughter Saffie is in the saddle on her sole start of the day , like the horse she seems to do well at Ascot with a 21% strike rate overall. Should make his presence felt.

    7.00 Kempton - Satin Snake 11/2 (365) - Sayifyouwill 10/1 (Hills,Coral,SkyBet,BFred,Lads)
A few of these look as though they could take this but at the prices im happy to side with a couple against the field , firstly bottom weight SATIN SNAKE whose held his from pretty well since going to Adrian Keatleys' yard - 8,3,1,2,1,6,1,2,6,4 , was a sound fourth last time at Newcastle , and i think he can better that here tonight at a track he seems to like , over tonights CD hes never been unplaced with three wins and two places from five outings. Trainer brings just this one here this evening , has been amongst the winners lately with a 14% strike rate over the past fortnight , and the fact he brings the horse on the long shlepp from his North Yorks yard making it the longest traveller of the meeting hasnt gone un noticed. Claimer Ryan Sexton takes a handy 3lb off and he has a 25% strike rate in the last two weeks , has ridden the horse seven time to date resulting in two wins and three places , and when the trainer and jockey have pooled their talents over the last three weeks they have come away with a 33% strike rate. Should be there or thereabouts i think. SAYIFYOUWILL is the other one on my radar , been running fairly well this year , bit of a poor effort last time when only seventh but before that she had come third and then on her penultimate run first. Like the other selection can hopefully improve on that lto run now returning to a course where shes won three and placed twice from eight runs over CD. From 23 runs over this evenings distance shes won seven races and placed in a further 4 , so i think its safe to say that this is her trip. Heather Main has just this one out tonight and its worth watching her runners at Kempton this term where she has a 40% strike rate along with a profit of +£11.00. Rob Hornby in the hot seat and hes won 4 times and placed once in his ten rides aboard the horse , in decent form at the moment with a 17% strike rate over the past two weeks. Should be bang there when it matters at what o consider a decent price.

    9.00 Kempton - Della Mare 5/1 (Hills,SkyBet,BFred) - Magicinthemaking 10/1 (Hills,Coral,SkyBet,BFred,Lads)
A couple in this one catch my eye , first one is DELLA MARE who was a good second to the re opposing Agapather last time out over tonights CD , and i think that she could well turn the tables on that rival here. Rarely runs a bad race round here with one win and three places from her five runs over CD. Looks to have a decent draw , trainer not in sparkling from tbh but you can never discount his runners totally as they often have a tendency to pop up , whilst jockey Mollie Philips is here for just this one , eases the burden with her 3lb claim and sure to be in the mix. MAGICINTHEMAKING is my other selection , hasnt been at her best last three runs but did get her head in front at the turn of the year , and it catches my eye that she comes into this on that very same mark , she has won off higher in the past , so i think theres every chance of a decent run here tonight , especially when you look at her course form , shes had 24 runs at Kempton winning 4 of them and placing in a further 9. Whilst over CD she has had 11 runs , winning once and placing in a further seven. John Long has just this one at the meeting and he has a 20% strike rate at the course this season whilst Dave Probert gets the leg up , has ridden the horse five times resulting in a win and a place , has bene doing well this term when travelling here with a 25% strike rate along with a very healthy +£47.61 profit to boot. If anywhere near here best i think she should be maing the principals sweat abit.

    Thursday 4th May

    6.45 Chelmsford - Cedar Cage 9/2 (365) - What Will Be 4/1 (365)
Like two in this one , first one is CEDAR CAGE who arrives in decent nick , winning last time out over 2m here at Chelmsford , but is equally as effective at todays trip having won over it at Wolverhampton back in March , rarely runs a bad race here with a win and four places from seven outings. Has gone up 3lb for that last time out win but i doubt that will have much effect in the hunt for the follow up. Derek Shaw has a 25% strike rate over the last coupla weeks , and has an 11% strike rate here at Chelmsford overall. Claimer George Eddery comes here for just this one ride , and helps the cause with his 7lb claim , the horse and jockey have struck up quite a partnership with figures of - 1,4,2,1 since he took over the reins. He too has a 25% strike rate in the past fortnight , and when he teams up with the trainer there strike rate over the last three weeks is 50%. Should definatley be making his presence felt. WHAT WILL BE is the other one i like the look of , had been out of sorts running over hurdles after 816 days off course , but in two recent spins here at Chelmsford he performed much better with a win on his first run on the flat since his return over this evenings CD , beating the re opposing Smokey Malone by a length , and then followed that up with a decent enough third here over 2m last month. That win here made it two from two over CD for the horse , so seems to have a liking for it here and i cant see any reason why he shouldnt go well tonight. Trainer Olly Murphy sends just this one here and has a 15% strike rate in the last two weeks and this term when sending them here he has a 33% strike rate. Secured the services of Will Buick for the first time on the horse which caught my eye , has a 23% strike rate in the last month , can see this one going well.

    7.05 Lingfield - Grandfather Tom 11/2 (365)
A few come into this after good last time out runs but i fancy the chances of GRANDFATHER TOM , who to my eye made a pleasing enough return last time out after 205 days off and i think now hes shaken off the ring rust a better run can be expected. The thing that caught my eye the most is the fact that he is running off a career low mark , and his trainer is shrewd enough to be able to capitalise on this i think. Has won two from three over tonights CD , and has won eight times over the distance and placed in a further five (from 48 outings) , whilst hes two from four in class 6 races. Trainer Robert Cowell brings just this one to the meeting , and he has a 16.7% strike rate here this season along with a small profit of +£5.00. George Downing in the saddle for the first time , and he has a 25% strike rate over the last three weeks. For me a decent run looks to be on the cards and i think he can make his presence felt.
